New technologies, allowing for ‘seamless’ passage through state borders, are increasingly utilized towards improving traveler flow and facilitating border checks. In accommodating the deployment of such technologies and the respect for relevant societal values, PERSONA proposes a tailored down, integrated impact assessment method for critical reflection on the future consequences of envisaged border management initiatives, contributing to more sound decisions being made about their use.
